Fundraising
While most of the time spent in Poynton & District Round Table is about having fun, trying new events and socialising, we do undertake a couple of activities which raise money for us to donate in the local community to charities, organisation, groups and good causes. It is our way for a group of blokes down the pub to put something back in to the local community.
Our two fundraising events are:
Poynton's Annual Bonfire
Every November we put on the Poynton Bonfire & Fireworks extravaganza at Poynton Park. This is a large organised bonfire and professional Fireworks Display for the local community. We believe it is the finest Bonfire and Fireworks event in North Cheshire and South Manchester. It takes a fair bit of planning, but we have a good time organising it (normally down the pub), and come the actual day it is serious time but is still a great fun day. The money raised by the Poynton Bonfire is then subsequently donated to local charities, organisations, groups and good causes.
Poynton Santa Rounds
Every year we bring Father Christmas to Poynton to meet the kids. During December we tour Santa around Poynton in the custom built road going Sleigh. Whilst Santa is meeting the local children and taking note of their Christmas lists, the guys from Poynton Round Table are collecting donations from the good people of Poynton. Again the money raised by the Santa Rounds is then subsequently donated to local charities, organisations, groups and good causes.
