A Local Tradition

The Annual Poynton Bonfire has been continually run by Poynton round table since it was established in 1972. Now in its 53rd year, the Bonfire & Fireworks Display is proudly organised by Poynton Round Table and is the premier bonfire night event for North East Cheshire, South Manchester, and Stockport.

Local Volunteering & Fundraising

It is our main source of fundraising revenue which all goes back into the local community to support charitable causes.

Held at Poynton Park, the event is organised and run entirely by volunteers from Poynton Round Table, who give up their free time to ensure everyone has a fun and safe experience.

Further Information

Read on if you want to know more about any of the events at Poynton Bonfire & Firework night.

Bonfire

The guys from Poynton Round Table will have spent most of the day building a massive bonfire, so lets get this fire burning! Lighting starts around 6:15pm, so get a good position just before then to watch this monster go up in flames.

Fireworks

This is what we all come to see really, so we don’t just put 1 display; no we have 2 massive professional displays to keep you entertained. 7pm is the ‘junior’ display. So we go a little lighter on the big bangs, and keep it colourful and entertaining. 8pm is the “main” display. A no holds barred display, with big bangs guaranteed.

Fairground

If you love to be spun round at a thousand miles an hour, then we have just the thing for you at our Fairground. A firm favourite with the teenagers. We’ll also have some rides suitable for the little one.

Live Music Stage

The live music stage is conveniently positioned next to the Round Table bar to keep the entertainment going and party sprits high between the firework displays.

Family Area

The ever popular family area. We understand that our event can be noisy, busy and maybe a bit daunting for the little ones, so we’ve set aside an area just for families, with good views of the Bonfire and Firework Display area.

Licensed Bar

Positioned close to Live Bands Stage, our bar helps to create a party atmosphere and allows our guest to enjoy a beer, cider, wine, soft drink, or a chocolate bar. Please drink responsibly.

Food

Dotted around the site are plenty of food stalls, selling everything you would expect; Burgers, Hog Roast, Hot-dogs, Chips, Chocolate, Warm Drinks, Great Coffee, Soft Drinks, Candy Floss, Toffee Apples, Popcorn, etc. It’s not going to win any health awards, but it will keep you warm on a fresh November night. For Alcohol, seek out the Round Table Bar, near the Live bands stage.
