About Us
Established in 1972 – Poynton Round Table is a men’s social group with a simple goal: have fun, make friends, and give back to the local community.
Who is it For?
The members of Round Table come from all walks of life and join for a variety of reasons. There are no barriers to joining regarding one’s political, religious, occupational or marital status and the only qualification is to be male, over 18 and under 45. Anyone considering becoming a member is welcome to come along to one of our monthly activities to meet the group without any pressure, commitment or cost.
What is it all about?
We’re a group of volunteers who come together to organise events, try new experiences, and raise money for local causes. Being a tabler is all about saying YES
YES – to new activities
YES – to meeting new people
YES – to supporting our community

Our Mission
We believe that strong communities are built by people who show up. Our mission is to bring local men together to create lasting friendships, support local causes, and run events that the whole of Poynton can enjoy.
If you’re looking to be more social, try new experiences, and do some good along the way, Poynton Round Table could be for you.
Meet New People and Build Lasting Friendships
Round Table is as social as it gets. Joining our group means becoming part of a local, national and international network of friends. Many of our members form friendships that last well beyond their time at the table.
Have Fun Trying New Things
We believe life’s better when you step outside your comfort zone. Over the past few years, our members have taken part in everything from wakeboarding, rock climbing and go-karting to brewery tours, escape rooms and comedy nights. There’s always something going on, and there’s always room for a laugh.
Work Together to Give Something Back
Giving back is at the heart of what we do. Each year, we raise thousands of pounds for local charities by organising, supporting, and getting involved in fundraising events that make a real difference in our community.
The Wider Round Table Community
Poynton Round Table is part of Round Table UK, a nationwide network of men aged 18–45 who believe in doing more – more friendship, more experiences, and more community impact.
Round Table was founded in Norwich in 1927 by Louis Marchesi, a young Rotarian who saw the need for a space where young men could meet regularly, exchange ideas, learn from one another, and play an active role in civic life. Inspired by a speech from the then Prince of Wales, our motto is:
Adopt. Adapt. Improve.
