For the main charity for the 2009/2010 fundraising season we chose to contribute towards a new 4WD vehicle for the Poynton First Responders
Poynton Round Table along with Poynton Rotary Club collectively donated £13,000 towards the cost of a new quick response vehicle ‘Kia Sportage’ for Poynton Community First Responders.
Each year both Round Table and Rotary Club seek local charities to sponsor using funds raised throughout the year. Round Table organize the Annual bonfire and fireworks display at Poynton Pool, also helping Santa with his ‘rounds’ in December. Rotary Club raise the majority of their money from their annual concert at Poynton Pool this year the hugely popular Brass and ABBA. We were both delighted to offer financial support when approached by the Community Responders knowing this to be a very worthy local cause.
Poynton Community First Responders are a completely voluntary service who are trained to attend emergency calls received by the ambulance service and provide care until the ambulance service arrives.
