About Poynton and Hazel Grove
Poynton is a village of around 15000 people in Cheshire nr. Stockport. The first record of Poynton is from 1289 and it was largely agricultural until two centuries ago when coal was discovered. The collieries and canals around Poynton have long since gone. Poynton & Hazel Grove Round Table was founded in the seventies to help local charities and schools via fundraising in & around the area.
