Poynton Round Table – Clubs and Societies July 2007

We triumphed at the Redesmere Raft Race although unfortunately our great rivals, Jones Homes, were not there to push us really hard this year. It was a great fun day out in support of a fantastic local charity, East Cheshire Hospice, and the kids had a ball – our newest member, Phil, collected the trophy and beer on behalf of the team!

Recently we’ve done ice skating, Tai-Chi, been to a nuclear bunker, and to a beer festival – the year is shaping up nicely! In the near future, we’ve got archery, mountain biking, and 20/20 cricket. We’re also trying to set up a sports challenge against other local Tables.

Hopefully, you’ll be seeing our mascot, RT Bear, performing his Beat the Goalie antics (think of a hairy Bruce Grobbelar!) at some of the school summer fairs. We’re also starting to make arrangements for the Bonfire and Fireworks – seems like only two minutes since last year’s gig!

Several new guys have joined recently but more are always welcome. If you’re aged 25-45, be part of the action locally, check out our website www.poyntonroundtable.co.uk or give Karl a call (871146) and find out what you’re missing out on.
