Hi, My name is David Bennett, I have been in Poynton Round Table for 3 years now, on my first full year I have taken the role of Treasurer, some say this is a role that carries a large amount of responsibility but that’s not the case really, I just like writing cheque’s, even if there not for me!!! Since that role I have move on to the Santa Float Officer and now Social Officer which involves getting the families together a few times throughout the year for meals and kids events etc.

So keeping to the Chairman’s format….

Favourite Aspects of Poynton Round Table

• Drinking STELLA on a regular basis.
• Ticking off all “the things a bloke must do before you die” or at least get booted out of PRT.

On a more serious note its worth mentioning that my first 2 years in Poynton were spent socialising with old friends from where I moved from, due to work and family commitments I can honestly say I had not got to know one person from Poynton, this has nothing to do with Poynton, it was down to me to get out there but how do I go about it?
Well for me it came by way of an old work colleague I bumped in to at Lower Park who told me about PRT and asked if I fancied coming along to the following event, after speaking to my wife Lisa (who after discussing it with other school mum’s and the like to see just what the hell I was going to be getting involved in!) encouraged me to go, my first night was arranged, it was Go-Karting which as a Racing Driver myself I was looking forward to it, the night was outstanding, we got the karting track late, the staff had locked up and gone home, with a minibus full of Tablers the only option was to come back to Poynton Beijing to eat and drink, after plenty of both I am reliably informed that I was dropped off at home several hours later, from that point on I was in and I haven’t looked back.

A Picture of Myself and the Wife!!!!

Oh no, I just know I'm going to be in trouble for this one!!!
