Poynton Round Table

The National Association of Round Tables of Great Britain and Ireland

2005 was a landmark year for Poynton & District Round Table.

We have now managed to raise and donate over £50,000 to local causes and charities ranging from Poynton groups such as cubs & brownies to East Cheshire Hospice, Stepping Hill Children’s Unit and Christies.

However we would not have been able to do this without the continuing support and goodwill of you, the people of Poynton, turning out every year to the annual bonfire and fireworks extravaganza and for your donations at Christmas time.

Over 100 local causes have now received funding from Round Table yet there is so much more that we are able to help with. If you run or have some involvement with any local groups, charities or societies that needs extra funds for projects please contact us on 01625 871146 for more information, every request will be considered.

One asset we have that could help is our 15 seater minibus - this is available to hire to anyone 365 days of the year, just call 01625 879 998 or check out the website for details and availability.

Did you know that for the people of Poynton the following has occurred:
30 years of bonfires & fireworks displays,
26,750 pallets stacked up & burnt,
98,500 hot dogs consumed,
28 Years of Santa visits
12,680 miles of pavements pounded
120,570 doorbells rung.

And all in the name of fun. Over the years more than 800 people have been part of Round Table and all have helped out in one way or another. The one comment that keeps coming back is the word Fun, they've all enjoyed being a part of it.

We meet every couple of weeks on a Tuesday evening, usually in the Farmers Arms for a cheeky beer or two before going out to enjoy ourselves, so if you are male and aged 18 to 45 and are interested in trying something new contact us through the Join Us web page.
